Dr. Octavia I. Altheimer

There are times in everyone’s life where they feel they have not completely fulfilled their potential. Having served in the community and on boards, as many of my neighbors have, I too, feel a sense of duty-A duty to Bloom Township. With this, I am officially announcing my run for BLOOM TOWNSHIP SUPERVISOR. I feel that I must use my talents, experience and passion to help alleviate many of the problems facing this country today that is happening here in our backyards. I have come to the conclusion that my 20+ years of business expertise and my leadership style is exactly what Bloom Township needs in order to move forward towards a prosperous future. I am the only candidate who doesn’t live in Chicago Heights and I am not being investigated by the FBI, as other candidates. What the township lacks is complete transparency. This is what I offer! 

Being Bloom Township Supervisor is an opportunity, not just for me, but for all of us to come together to make real change happen. Bringing people together is not just a skill, but a passion that is deeply needed in our local governments. I am announcing this run, because I have that passion!

My purpose in seeking Supervisor is simple. I believe that public service is incumbent on all of us. It does not need to be a career but instead, something we all contribute to. When I was young, my grandfather would take the grandchildren on picnics and other children in the community would sometimes accompany us. By taking others besides his grandchildren, the sense of community was exuding from his pores that we grabbed hold to. He believed that in helping others, we would develop that same sense of community for ourselves.
